THE FIRST-EVER RETREAT FOR MODERN WEAVERS
We are am proud and so, so thrilled to present our dream project, The Weaving Kind Makerie! On October 19-22, 2017, we will gather as weavers and friends for three incredible days of learning, self-care, intention-setting and community at the first-ever full-scale summit for modern weavers.
The WKM is set at the foot of the majestic Flatirons of Boulder, Colorado, at the historic Boulder Chautauqua. The campus, which backs up to hiking trails among breathtaking scenery, has been a venue for creative cultural learning since 1886. In cozy, time-seasoned buildings on a beautiful campus, you will take part in intimate workshops taught by your fiber art heroes, nourish your well-being with special self-care sessions, try incredible looms, tools and fibers, enjoy locally-prepared meals, build friendships with other weavers, and be inspired by our instructor panels and evening speakers to set deeper intentions for a lifetime of weaving.
We've built the WKM around three main ideas: Connection, Intention, and Growth. We believe these three things make up the foundation of a beautiful and lasting weaving practice. We can't wait to tell you more about our plans to help inspire, encourage, and nurture you as an artist and weaver!
